Programs
Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Committees are groups of stakeholders consisting of law enforcement, fire, rescue, towing, recovery, and transportation agencies interested in enhancing traffic incident management on Maine’s roadways.
The Maine TIM program focuses on the following objectives:
- Increase responder safety by eliminating struck-by incidents, injuries, and fatalities.
- Minimize impacts to the free flow of traffic
- Decrease incident clearance time
- Decrease secondary incident occurrences
- Improve inter-agency communication during incidents.

Statewide
This group provides overarching guidance and allows for a statewide assessment of various issues and themes for traffic incident management throughout the regions and groups in the State.

This group serves Penobscot County and has members from a variety of backgrounds who provide region specific insight to the group. A few of the primary roadways and factors in this region include I-95, 395, and Route 2. This region includes the greater Bangor urbanized area and stretches from Newport to Old Town.

Northern Penobscot County
This group is currently being developed and will serve rural Penobscot County. A few of the primary roadways and factors in this region include I-95. This region includes areas west of Hermon/Bangor such as Glenburn, Carmel, Dexter, Dixmont and Corinna. Additionally, north of Old Town/Milford which also spans areas to the east and west of the I-95 corridor. Such as Millinocket, Medway, Howland, Lagrange, Lowell, Bradford, Lee, and Patten

This group serves Midcoast Maine, from Bath to the Belfast area and has members from a variety of backgrounds who provide region specific insight to the group. A few of the primary roadways and factors in this region include 295 and Route 1.
